I had a good time renewing friendships at my 40th class reunion held near Idaville, OR. We were surprised by the arrival of 3 of our teachers: Mrs. Roberts, Mrs. Ball, and Mrs. Abrahamson.
As Bill and I drove home from the coast, this was the scene we encountered. Our world sure has some beautiful combinations of colors!
Bill put a new door in for my mom. It was a bit of a challenge because the house had settled over the years, and he had to put the door into a slanted hole!
Mom was Bill's helper...
Candy watered the garden and planted some new starts.
Everything she does is a work of art...even her raised beds!
We had a couple of twin visitors nearby...
Mom's roses were stunning!
Her cat is a little cutie... Candy cooked a wonderful oyster dinner, and we had some beautiful veggies for a salad. She also made a HOMEMADE lemon meringue pie for Bill. Talk about spoiled!
We made our annual trip to Shellburg Falls with the Young Single Adults, and Bill took his turn. I was perched on a bank below taking pictures. It's a bit of a thrill doing this at our ages :-).
The climb back out is actually more difficult than the rappellling!
For my birthday, Bill and I went to the coast again. We drove along the Alsea River toward Waldport, and we stopped at a place where my mom used to live while growing up. The trails were beautiful, and we saw some elk and deer tracks.
It's no wonder my mom enjoyed living here so much. I look forward to taking her back here again soon.
Bill had a day off, and we headed straight for the beach! We found another old covered bridge on our way to Newport.
Bill talked me into climbing a little tree.
We made a stop at one of our favorite places, Yaquina Head.
The tide was in, so we enjoyed the tide pools from a distance.
Harbor seals enjoying the sun and cormorants doing whatever cormorants do...
Lots of nesting sea birds (Common Muir)
We made another stop at the Connie Hanson Memorial Garden in Lincoln City. I took pictures of many flowers, but I didn't post them. This bush was especially beautiful!
I was born and raised in Oregon but I married an Englishman. My husband, Bill, and I raised 6 children. I love nature, photography, calligraphy, quilting, many forms of art and a variety of music, but most of all I love to spend time with my children and grandchildlren. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and plan to pursue a lifelong love of learning.
