Malheur in the Fall

As Bill and I headed to Utah to attend our grandson's baptism, we saw this healthy buck antelope after leaving Bend.
 The evening sky was gorgeous!
We stayed in Burns and made a side trip to Malheur, one of our favorite wildlife refuges. This is a green-tailed towhee that we saw at the visitor's center. It is a life bird for me!
I love to hear the quail in the fields.
This egret makes an interesting reflection in the nearby pond.
Vultures are found all over the refuge.
I'm not sure what this bird is, but I am amazed that it can enjoy such a thorny perch!
Sandhill cranes, one of my favorite birds!
 A herd of beautiful antelope
We made the same stop on the way home and captured a few pictures before dark. Buena Visa Ponds are a "must see"!
