Trip to Utah, Sept. 2008

After taking Katie to BYU-Idaho, we drove to Utah to visit Will, Julie, Megan and Andy. The guys spent a lot of time in Will's back yard helping him build a storage shed.

This was a precious picture as Papa guided Drew with the hammer!

To see the finished product, check out Will's blog which is linked to mine.

Billy was busy with a creative project of his own!

At first it was a jump for his toy truck.

Next it became a little "man."

Maggie...

and her birthday presents from Grandma and Papa.

Do you see any mischief in this picture?

Drew loved to grab onto the handle of the compressor when it came on because he liked the way it felt when it vibrated.

Drew was determined to do what the "big" kids were doing :-).

"I know there is something in here!"

I know these go on somehow...

It was fun to see our kids interact with their own children. Andy, Megan and Jesse.

The famous "toe in the mouth" maneuver.

Jesse's first tooth!

Jesse loved the tools also!

Megan and Jesse enjoy a cuddle...

Bath time is so much fun!

Pals

"Hold it! Just a minute there!"

Awwwwwwwwww

Billy's first soccer game.

We had to take the kids to Antelope Island. Billy and Maggie managed the binoculars quite well.

This stilt is one of shore birds we viewed.

A baby robin at the visitors' center.
The antelope walked right next to our car which the kids thought was great.

We saw numerous buffalo!

This baby wasn't too concerned that we were there.

Grandma, Drew and Jesse.

This is what I came home to! My garden exploded!

Four Wheelers on Labor Day, 2008

Unloading the four wheelers up the Kilchis River...

Bill and I had a great day exploring the roads and trails with Chris and Bev!

Excited to be on our way!

Chris decided his ears were cold.

You never know what awaits you on the side of the road...this is an ugly Turkey Vulture!

Bev

Bill

Forever seeking those proverbial elk!

There always has to be an "adventure." Bill and Chris
are fixing a flat tire on Bill's four wheeler. Thank
goodness Chris had a flat tire kit!

Finally done and successful too!

This time we chased a coyote down the road!

Spectacular views!

Bugling for elk

Looking back where we've just been...

Enjoying a packed lunch

There's always something growing out of an old stump.
This one was used during a logging operation as you can
see where a cable cut into it all around the base.

I could not find this in my book, but it
resembles Yellow Parentucellia. However,
the flower is not the same shape. Can
someone help me out?

I take weird pictures, but I think grasses are beautiful.

Chris and Bev

We encountered this beautiful stream toward the end of our trip.

The vine maple is just beginning to change colors.

It is getting later in the day. I loved this particular trail.

We stopped at a trail head to view some maps.

Pearly Everlasting

Salal berries

I loved the seeds on this stump.

Sometimes a lone daisy can be very beautiful.

Goldenrod

Thistle

These seeds represent new life and hope...

Brushy!
