Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge in Washington State

Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge is such a wonderful place to visit! We finally had a day of decent weather, so off we went. This is probably the most photographed great blue heron in the Pacific Northwest! You must stay in your automobile this time of the year, so the birds are very used to the cars touring the refuge.
 Reflections
This is Bill's photo. He spotted this hawk off in the distance and I handed him my camera and said, "Take his picture!" I love this photo!
 Bald Eagles

 Juvenile Eagle
 Nutria
 Merganser
 Red-winged Blackbird
 Sandhill Cranes
 Pintails
Short-eared Owl
We became so engrossed in watching these owls that we didn't leave the refuge soon enough and we were locked inside the gate! We had to call the police so they could come let us out.

Beach Trip With Will

Bill and Will and I went to the beach together just before Will had to catch his flight back to Utah (he came for his brother's wedding). I took these egret pictures at Whalen Island.

We stopped at this viewpoint before descending into the Netarts Bay area. We went on to visit family.

It was very nice to take the time to make this trip with our son.
