Relaxing and Baking Bread

Megan, Jesse and Charlotte came to visit for a couple of days. Look at these bright little eyes!

Oh, baby! We've got a thumb-sucker :).
Megan learned to make whole wheat bread with ground flax seed.

Hot out of the oven...is your mouth watering yet?

Oh Deer!

Megan, Jesse, Charlotte and I drove to Basket Slough to take a little hike. After parking, we headed up the hill to catch the view of the valley.

We were greeted by these friendly deer.
This little doe decided the trees tasted better than the grass.

Yum!!!

Now every self-respecting little boy must carry a stick on a hike!

Taking a little break...
Hamming it up!!!

Lots of geese overhead...
Oops...we startled this deer at the lookout on top of the hill.

Hitching a ride...
Another Great Blue Heron to add to my collection :)...

The male shoveler may be colorful,
but the female is really a beautiful little thing!

Poindexter

Our little "Poindexter"...

I found a bag of sunglasses stashed in a corner of the closet, and Jesse loved these. His Mom used to wear them when she was little. :)

At Mission Mill we located the duck food and began plunking in the quarters...

Jesse loved it! I think he could have stayed there all day.

Charlotte was bundled against the cold, and she didn't seem to mind a bit.

Jesse was fascinated with this little chest of drawers in an antique/gift store at the mill.

Megan found an interesting instructional book...
Such a little face on such a big sheep!

Making Time Together

Bill and I spent a wonderful afternoon together at Silver Creek Falls!

We hiked the trail under the north bridge to the Upper North Falls.

The recent rain made some very lovely pictures...

It is amazing how many different flora grow in the forest!

Spring is near!

Every growing thing was crowned with "jewels."

Have you ever seen the skeleton of a tree?

Upper North Falls

Every tree is adorned with moss in this Pacific Northwest!

Nature has its own version of "lace."

South Falls

Can you see the bridge way below?

Coming home...
