Paul and His Cat Annie

This is our son Paul and his cat, Annie. It is not difficult to see that this cat still belongs to him. She goes bonkers when he is around. He taught her to ride around on his shoulders, and now she tries to do it with me!

Awwwwwwwwwww! Pretty good friends :)

Enjoying Time With Mom

Mom came to visit for a few days and we enjoyed a quilt project together. We tied this quilt that was hand made by my Great Grandmother Griffin. Mom gave it to me several years ago, and we decided her visit would be a great time to finish it. The quilt is around a hundred years old!

We shopped and quilted and took a drive to see my Uncle Ted Fellows. While we were there, his granddaughter Tabitha also came to visit. It had been several years since I saw her last, and we had a fun visit.

Last Day of 2010

Bill needed to pick up his ATV from Mom's, so we made a trip to the coast on the last day of the year. Bill had the day off, and it was nice to spend it together.

On the way over we took a shortcut through Basket Slough Wildlife Reserve, and we enjoyed watching some hawks, a heron, and some ducks. These pin tails were especially pretty.

We met Mom and Candy at the Cape Meares Lighthouse, and we watched for whales. Only Candy and Bill saw some spouts as it was a cold and windy day. We left after a short time because we were freezing!
Bill and I drove out toward Bay Ocean before heading to Mom's. I snapped this view of Bay City (where I grew up) across the Bay.

We saw this beautiful Meadowlark who seemed to be posing just for us.
We also saw this Egret hunting in the Bay Marshes.

This little Kingfisher was rather elusive. He continued to fly along the bay as I tried to get a picture of him. He rested long enough on this snag for me to capture him!
The mountains behind Tillamook were very beautiful with this light blanket of snow.

We picked up Bill's ATV at Mom's and spent a little time visiting. It was a nice way to spend the last day of the year!
