Trail to the Big Spruce at Cape Meares

Bill and I enjoyed going to the coast this weekend to visit Anne and Matt at my Mom's. Friday evening we enjoyed some cribbage games (which Mom won!). Saturday we enjoyed a hike to the Big Spruce at Cape Meares. A windstorm recently took out several large trees in the area. We observed this as we hiked, and we also enjoyed nature's little miracles. I am posting several pictures from this outing, and then I'll post our other adventures later.

The Big Spruce (estimated to be over 700 years old...this picture does not do justice to its size!)
