My friend Colleen and I spent the afternoon at Salem's Capital building where we enjoyed a military uniform display. Colleen's husband served in the Navy during WWII in the European Theater, and also as a Marine during the Korean War. He was a medic at that time and received the Silver Star award for valor. I love hearing her stories as it increases my appreciation for those who went before us to preserve the wonderful freedoms we enjoy in this great country!
