I never get tired of taking pictures of the deer that pass through our yard. This little fawn was a cutie!

Kayaking the Willamette
About 6 months ago Bill and I scheduled a weekend to kayak together. Yesterday was the day we scheduled and we had a gazillion things to do, but we went kayaking anyway! It was beautiful and relaxing. We saw several Great Blue Herons and several Ospreys. We both slathered on the sunscreen!
We started at the bridge in Salem and kayaked down stream to Wheatland Ferry. It was 12 miles of paddling, but there was a pretty good current all the way. It took us about 3 1/2 hours.
This Osprey nest is right below the ferry. This is a baby waiting for its dinner.
Mom always comes through!

Buena Vista Ferry--Ospreys
Portland Rose Garden
Anne and I went to the Rose Gardens after leaving the Japanese Gardens. It was VERY hot, so we went around hugging the shade.
It is hard to believe we have never been there! We learned that there were over 500 varieties of roses.
I love my new lens!
We heard these noisy crows and could barely see them. I decided to try a shot and didn't realize until later it was a mother feeding a baby.
