Birding With the Grandkids

Billy and Maggie got up at 6am to go birding with Megan and me! We visited Farmington Bay, another wonderful refuge near the Great Salt Lake.

This is a man-made rookery for Great Blue Herons.

American Avocet

Avocet and 2 Short-billed Dowitchers
Yellow-headed Blackbird

"Don't touch me!"
"Come on you guys! I need a nice picture."

"Oh, alright, Grandma."

A little trick Megan learned from her dad...

the heron rookery is fascinating, I've never seen an artificial construction so extensive - the herons need all the help they can get! Thanks for sharing the birds...
