Beautiful pass through the mountains
We arrived at historical Cove Fort which was built by Ira Hinckley. Before he was asked to fulfill this daunting task, he lived in this little cabin. It was moved to the same location as Cove Fort for visitors to enjoy.

We enjoyed a tour by this missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His wife's family owned the fort at one time, and they were thrilled to receive the assignment to serve their mission here.

At one time the huge doors were filled with sand for protection.

The couch on the left is called a "Mormon Couch." It was the precursor to the futon and was covered by a buffalo robe.

We were delighted to take a tour of this historical church site. There was a wonderful spirit here, and we enjoyed learning about the hard work of men and women who dedicated their lives to serving God.
