The Cat Lady

My cats have not been receiving enough attention lately. They follow me around everywhere!
Only Lennon is missing from this picture. He must have been looking for some trouble to get into.

My Lovely Visitors

You may think the title of this blog is an attempt to be facetious, but I really mean it! I never get tired of seeing these beautiful little creatures, even if they eat up all of my flowers!

She's not really very nice, is she? ...right in the middle of my flowers! Can you see her chewing?!
These two pictures were taken yesterday.

She is teaching her little one to follow her example!

These two pictures were taken this morning. She is a very protective Mama.

Spending Time at Mom's

Recently I spent a few days at Mom's and we enjoyed several projects and activities. We tied this quilt that was given to Mom by Toni April. We are not sure who made it, but it is all sewn by hand. As you can see it is a very cheerful quilt. We weeded some flower beds, stacked wood on Mom's porch, weeded the memorial at the park, bought Mom a new phone, and I cut her hair. We also went to Barview and fed gulls :-).

Such concentration!

I love these floats!

I don't usually take pictures of the Garibaldi
Coast Guard Station, but it is actually a very
attractive building.

Camping with Chris and Bev at Seal Rock, 6, 08

The next 6 posts depict our mini-vacation with Chris and Bev at the coast. We had a wonderful time together and hated to leave. We set up camp at The Seal Rock RV Park. It is one of our favorite places to stay because it is small, clean, and has wonderful campground hosts.

"Mutt and Jeff"

The little town of Seal Rock has the best fudge shop on the coast (with family recipes). You are looking at milk chocolate/walnut, chocolate rum raisin, and penuche. Pretty cruel, huh.

One night we grilled some "foil meals." They are made up of chopped vegetables (carrots, potatoes, and onions) with ground burger added (this one has turkey burger). Add some seasoning, wrap it in foil, and "Bob's your uncle and Sally's your Aunt!"

Bill and Becky's campsite (enjoying "some mores")

We introduced Bev and Chris to an "English breakfast" which included sausages, stewed tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, scrambled eggs, and biscuits (well, it is an "American" version of an English breakfast).

The Beach at Seal Rock

This is a wonderful beach to explore and enjoy. There are also many different shore birds that nest here.

Bill's favorite thing to do on the beach
(probably why he came back looking
like a lobster :-)

I love the weathered rocks.

Waldport Bay and Yachats, 6, 08

We could not resist stopping at Waldport Bay to take pictures of pelicans! A brief stop in Yachats gave us the opportunity to watch the waves and to pick up some pastries :-).

Pelicans run across the water to get a good start.

Cape Perpetua, 6, 08

Driving to the top of the mountain at Cape Perpetua was a joy. We were rewarded with a fantastic view of the Oregon Coast, looking both directions. The nature trail at the top held many visual delights, along with an interesting old fort. We watched a juvenile eagle soaring near the top, and enjoyed many different wildflowers in bloom.

It was worth the drive, just for the views!
