Trip to Utah just beore Christmas, 2016

Bill and I made a trip to Roy, Utah to visit our son Will's family just before Christmas. We were lucky to make it there, as the road was closed at one point. We waited it out and arrived at Mountain Home, Idaho for the first night. I could not resist taking pictures of the ice and snow on the Air Force Base!

The stretch of highway between Burley, Idaho and Tremonton, Utah is pretty remote. It is very beautiful, though.

Arriving in Tremonton, just north of Roy where our son's family lives
The mountains that surround the Great Salt Lake are gorgeous!
We made a trip to Temple Square to enjoy the Christmas lights!

A beautiful nativity in one of the fountains

Candles were places in paper sacks adding a soft glow to Temple Square.

Here are some shots I took on our way home. I love the rust on the roof of this old barn!

We always pass this old cabin, and I wonder what stories it could tell!
