Labor Day Hike With Special Friends

We spent this last Labor Day with special friends in the Detroit Wilderness near our home. We saw fire weed in abundance. It always makes me think of my dad's bees because they loved this flower and it produced great honey.
We drove near a mountain called Rocky Top.
 Down the hillside we went!
Bill is just about ready to approach a natural stone arch on the hillside.

Debi, Blair and Bill getting ready to climb back up the hillside. It was the climb back up that convinced me that I need to start working out again!!!
Blair drove us all around the area in his jeep. We saw beautiful little spots like this one that we probably would never get to in one of our vehicles.

We stopped there for a picnic. Blair and Debi are standing in front of their little jeep. It sure can go places!

We were watching salamanders in the pond.
We went to a rock pit and saw this sage hen. We then proceeded to drive up and down and around that pit in places that I never thought we could go! It was great fun!
 Oregon woods are so beautiful!
 Seeds captured in the wind
 Gorgeous berries of every color!

One last look at the view (Debi, Blair, Bill)

Gorgeous evening!
