I didn't think my second childhood would come so soon, but Kate and I sure had fun dressing up our cats :-).
This is Kahlua, our Siamese. This is a ONE year size T-shirt! He looks pretty cute.
He didn't seem to mind too much...he just rolled around.
Kahlua: "I DO mind! This is unreal. Why would they do this to me?"
Annie: "This is WAY below my dignity!"
Annie: "Don't worry, Dante, your turn is coming!"
"Disgusting!"
Annie: "Lennon, if I were you I'd get way the heck out of here!"
Lennon: "I should have listened to her!"
Lennon: "This is SOOOO not very funny."
"How am I supposed to walk in this thing?"
Kahlua: "I thought they were going to spare me the dress thing."
"There has to be SOME way out of this!"
"O.K. So I give up!"
Lennon: "Once was enough. Now they've got ME in a dress, too!"
Lennon: "What does she think I am?"
Kahlua: "See, Dante...didn't Annie tell you that your turn was coming?"
"I really CANNOT believe they did this to me."
"Where's Lennon? He has to be in this picture too!"
Annie: "We need to plan some way to get back at them!"

The Pinewood Derby Lives On!
The Young Single Adults in our church group decided to have a pinewood derby for fun (even though it is usually a Cub Scout activity)! Kate and I decided to make a car together, so this is Katie working on the design.
I am doing some sanding and shaping.
Can you believe we needed all this stuff to paint our car? I painted the body purple...
and Katie did all of the creative work (she did some practice designs on paper)! Once it was painted we attached the wheels and added some weights...we made "exhaust pipes" from fishing lead :-)
Ta da!
What do you think of that?
This is a line-up of several cars. Some of them are upside down so the powdered graphite will not fall off of the axels!
This is a "must" if you want a fast car!
This is the fancy race track ($1,600 worth! We borrowed it from the scout office).
Bill released the cars each time. This is Cory making sure that his car is lined up JUST RIGHT!
Ready...set...go!
This is the order of the races. Does this make sense to YOU?
Our car ("Flower Power") came in second and it also received the second most votes for the car that was best-liked.

Silver Creek Falls in the Winter
Bill and I just made a trip to Silver Creek Falls yesterday to see what it's like in the winter. This is the swollen river on the way to the North Falls. We could hear the roar of the falls long before we approached it!
The mosses are always beautiful any time of the year!
Our first view of the North Falls
The view as we walked behind the falls
The cavernous area that has formed behind the falls (Bill is searching for goodies in his back pack)
It is spectacular to see this much water in the falls!
Looking back at the view as we continue on the trail toward Twin Falls
Looking down at the river from the trail
Bill, on the trail
I am wearing Bill's hat to keep my ears warm...glamorous huh?
Moss, river, boulders and fog
The boulders are covered in licorice fern.
The trail and everything around it is covered in frost as we continue on.
There are several deep water holes.
One must look upward as well as downward to see what beauties nature has to offer!
Bill, just before we arrive at Twin Falls
The only falls we have never been to before on this trail
The beautiful sky and layers of scenery are so restful as we drive home.
